I was gonna join the lol train on this one, then I read the exact wording. I think it's a decent line if delivered right. I've approached successfully with lines like this. But delivery is important and maybe I'm reading too much into what OP wrote. For eg, I've approached the hottest girls with something like "hey...I know you probably get this alot.....but....you have the most beautiful...(straight eye contact like I'm about to compliment her beauty)....elbows/ears/whatever random thing I've ever seen. Cheesy, confident smile and go from there. She knows it's a joke. Don't think OP meant it this way but with good delivery something all these lines works.
