It's more like 1 and a half...

So there's a guy that I started hanging out with that knows this girl. They've been working in the same department or something, so they know each other pretty well. Naturally, she's more open with him than me, but I don't feel threatened by him. He's one of those nice guys with potential to take a girl, but never realizes it. Mind you, I like the guy and want to really be his friend, but I think I can use him here as well.

The three of us and maybe others go to a pizza place every so often. Either he or she takes the initiative and sets it up. During the one or two times we went, I haven't really been alpha. She talks, or they talk with her driving the conversations, and I take over when I can. Basically the pecking order goes Her, then Him, then Me

No more of that. Next time, I'm going to set it up and if she gets invited (which I know she will), fine. Then, I'll be number one in the situation and also bond with THE GUY, not her. I'll be bringing up things I know she probably likes too, but won't care if she's in the convo or not. She'll be an afterthought and if she gets intrigued, I might let her in. Basically a variant on picking up a girl by talking to her friend, only this time, her friend's a guy.

Since we go at least once a week, it would have to start soon.

The other plan was just keep up with L/NC for a while, and then try again later.

That's a pretty good plan if you want to make her comfortable being around you. The only thing I didn't read anywhere is you making yourself sexually attractive and that's the most important thing. So while you guys are out, you have to be charming around her, and put your energy into other women...preferably ones not around the people you work with. This may take a few outings if you want it to work correctly. Remember, you are digging yourself out of a hole.

Put her on an escalation ladder. (Use the friendzone to your advantage).

Your talking to her, your texting her. Get her used to you. When at work talk to her, listen to her, little things, does she like coffee? tell her your going for a coffee want one?? Does she like donuts?
Texting- text her every once in a while. Get her used to be there for her in a friend way. This is a long play.
Then continue to get better at the game on the side. She'll notice, you'll notice and improvement in yourself and situation.

Interesting. You and jack are both sort of saying the same thing, that I missed my immediate chance and I now have to climb into it the long way.

Go ahead and try to play the long game but if you don't have other readily available female options she will smell it and you will most likely be fucked. I say this so you won't look back and think that you weren't alerted to this probability.
