I think this belongs here. As a PUA I advocate natural gaming, but it doesn't really matter which approach you take, let it be indirect, direct, natural or NLP improving your life is one of the most important thing. It is the basis of your success not only in pick-up, but in general terms. By achieving new things you are building a personality and a confidence while meeting new people on your way. I've started this topic to make people aware of how important it is to do something to make yourself better EVERY DAY. That's right, you don't have to take big steps, but doing just something every day will make it a lot easier to accomplish your goals.

So, what do you guys do in your everyday life as an improvement? Post it here, I'm going to start.

I go and learn dancing with my girlfriend once a week.
I am studying Japanese.
I am taking online chess lessons.
I'm working on my grades at med school and shooting for a scholarship.

I am doing a Masters Degree, working out, improving my cooking skills and learning Dutch (OK, I actually hate the last one and intend to drop it ASAP. Kind of have to learn it for carrer reasons at the moment).

I try to appreciate the more insignificant things in life so I can feel fulfilled. I believe it allows me to be at peace inside and less focused on external desires.

Same as Mr_International above. I have already done everything I want to do in terms of career and love, materialistically, economically and educationally. There is no point chasing more money and more stuff, because I know it won't make me any happier, so I focus on the small things instead.

Tried it, didn't like it.

"make yourself better" implies you're not good enough now, implying an "other-directed" outlook where you want to impress people. Instead, focus on improving your LIFE: i.e. concentrate solely on yourself and what you WANT to do, not what you think that you "should" do to impress others; this will just lead to anxiety and disappointment.

If you actually LIKE dancing, Japanese, chess and med school then all good; but as the saying goes, don't "should" on yourself; stick to that for which you have a passion, because really that's the only reward you're going to get out of anything you do. Money certainly isn't, since it's less of a reward than the effort it takes to earn it-- even if you get to retire early, since that just gives you time to pursue your passion anyway... so do that from the start, and you can skip the drudgery.

It is exactly what I'm talking about. It all comes down to inner things. I'm feeling good about myself when I'm doing what I like doing and improving myself at it. If I wasted my talents in anything I like I would feel bad about that. There's a reason why hitting the gym wasn't included in my list. Nowhere in my post I wanted to imply to improve to impress others, you should do it for yourself. I've wanted to become a doctor since the age of 5, I've been playing chess passionately since I was 9. I like dancing with my gf I don't think that needs much explenation, and learning languages is a hobby for me. I'm generally good at languages and learn them easily and Japanese was always interesting to me and it's challenging enough too, that's why I chose it.

You are right, working on improving yourself is the most important thing for your own satisfaction.
The main goal is self satisfaction and one of the consequences is also higher self esteem which really attracts women. But I'm not doing it because women will like me better, I'm doing it because I like it and I'm feeling better when I have a purpose in my life.

I'm looking for a job in IT. (databases/web developing/design/online marketing)
I'm writing my master thesis about affiliate marketing.
I run because I want to be able to run half marathon once again.
I do some strength training now and then.
I'm writing articles and developing my new website about geeks and love life because I want to help people who have similar problems like I had in the past, and I want to share some experiences to get even better.
I try to appreciate important people and things in my life and not taking some less important things so serious.

I'm trying to enjoy my life as much as possible :)

i love robin sharma for providing guidance on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1EmuCOuGNY

but in general, it's having a more holistic view of your life:

health
wealth
career
happiness
adventure
friends and family

developing 1% in each one of those areas every day, consciously. being disciplined about it.

no short-cuts. enjoying the process, the journey.

though to be brutally honest, i didn't enjoy myself last 2 decades. i was too f**** tight with my life, focusing only on my career and not paying attention to the other things.
