What to do when a girl says ironically : "Was that a joke?"

Imagine you tell a joke to a girl and you see that she wants to laught but just to play hard she asks if that was a joke

What do I say that she will not be able to keep the laught?

btw can you give ideas for this question both in field or in text?

I once had a girl do the exact thing to me.

What did i do?

I looked at her, waited 5 secs without saying anything, so to let her build anticipation about my reaction.
Then I said; "My doctor told me that its unhealthy to hold your laugh. Don't you listen to your doctor?", while smiling.

Her reaction was; "Haha, shut up!"

I can't promise that this would work in all situations. It depends on the girl and the relationsship you have with her.

This won't work for you at all but I have a gay buddy that got asked this one time and he responded with "Well sweety, I figured that someone that would wear those shoes with that purse would have more of a sense of humor!"

I laughed my balls off because she was the mother hen type.

My response would be "Yeah, did you not hear all the laughter?"

I would just start laughing myself and then say

'It's a good thing i find myself funny because your humour is terrible'

Then i would RKO her out of no where.

I would reply with a sarcastic remark and playfully tease her for it.

But that's just cause I'm a very sarcastic individual as it is.

Quit trying to find a canned response to everything, and get the frame right. Stop telling jokes to impress the girl. If she doesn't get it, then it's her fault for being dumb. :P
