Hey everyone, I bought these tickets for this play that I know this girl wants to go to. They ended up costing like 80$ each and she was surprised and I asked her if she wanted to go with me. She said yes and then gave me a hug.

Now the big question, is this a date? And how can I find out whether it is or isn't, because if it's not I'm going to take the tix back from her, but I really do like her so what do you guys think?

You're holding her hostage, only and only if she wants to LABEL going out with the girl as a date? Who cares what it is labeled as? If you're hanging out with a girl one on one you are in perfect position for a seduction to take apace. I don't care if a girl called it " a girls night out" and I was there. If it's appropriate to buy a girl a drink halfway through your seduction (that means NOT at the beginning and definitely not as your opener), then that's fine. I agree to and extent. I personally don't care what I use as my opener or how much money I spend that doesn't stop me from expressing the masculinity and desire that a woman will naturally submit to. I think thats a good general rule for beginners; but once you know what you're doing there is nothing that can stop that. However, I personality don't believe money needs to be spent because it isn't necessary. Anything you're trying develop with a woman can be developed without the spending of money. But i wouldn't go so far as to say that spending money is an automatic display of desperation. Desperation is displayed in the vibe, behavior and, energy a man gives off during his actions; not so much within the actions themselves.

Based on the OP's frame and summary, he appears more concerned about whether their meeting is called 'a date' than actually fucking the girl, so we are pretty safe to assume he is not terribly experienced when it comes to pickup.

As for the money thing, don't get me wrong, I sometimes get a girl's number in a club if the one-night stand is just not happening and buy her a coffee the next day. If the Day 2 doesn't end in sex or a rejection, Day 3 is usually enough to seal the deal. I just think restaurants, broadway tickets, cinema etc. are all things the girl needs to earn by sucking my dick. And it's not about the money, she's not earning the right to have me pay for her shit. She's 'earning' my time; which is the right to go on dates with me. If you save your dates until after you've had sex, you will waste less time on fewer dates and the girl will feel more special. If she knows you throw the offer of dates at anything with a vagina, she will assume you are superficial and never develop those deep feelings.

I'm with you man. And I would agree that the OP need follow the rule until he develops into someone who can make what he wants to happen regardless of the situation. I just don't want other people reading this post to think that spending money is an automatic link to desperation. Desperation is in the frame and not the actions. Thats all.
