So I live in the original Hometown of Mystery in Toronto. Most of the clubs have dress codes and won't let you in if you dress like a clown.

I'm wondering how Mystery even got in the door with his outrageous Peacocking gear?

Don't know how he did it, but you have to be cool with the bouncer. Some bouncers are straight-up DBs and pass judgement, but others can be cool. In either case, it's best to establish some rapport with the guys so they recognize you the next time you come in. If all else fails, slip them some money.

Yeah maybe a place where you are a regular helps. I remember seeing a video where he said it's better to have venues you go to where you know everyone that works there. And really know the ins and out of the place. So after they perhaps recognize you to be able to pull it off. I have a few places that are becoming like that for me where they know my face.

You have to remember that back then mystery was peacocking in the days of grunge music and shit. It was a different time.

Even though the dress codes were probably alot more relaxed back then, he probably knew the bouncers and shit. Which is smart to do. I don't go to clubs very often but I make it a point to get in good with the bartenders and bouncers really good when I do.
