How does psychology directly relate or tie in to seduction?

After watching a one hour psychology lecture I chatted a girl up on Facebook.

HER: Hey how do I know you? Lol
ME: Idk you seemed interesting
HER: Lmao oh well i guess thats good
ME: I'm not like a serial killer or anything
HER: Haha i didnt think you were! Just wasnt sure if i ever met you or not so i thought id ask

Just to clarify, "psychology" is the study of BEHAVOUR. So everything is related to seduction.

I'd like to place psychology on the border of mysticism. Although it is, indeed, a science in itself, you can use it to your advantage by highlighting the similarities you and the girl share.

Palm reading is by far the most common psychological tool you can utilize to make the girl feel closer to you by reading who she is on the inside, even if you use vague phrases and comments:

PUA: "This line going from here to there means that you are a social butterfly who likes to meet new people and have fun, but this mark means that there's an underlying side of you that you don't want others to see. This makes you a little scared because you don't want to show the world your true colors, but only if you can truly trust someone can you shed your true self."
HB: "OMG! That is sooo accurate!"
PUA: "Really? Me, too!"

Dream interpretation is another tool you can use. Although there exists no scientific support behind this pseudo-science, it is nonetheless an interesting topic.

Lastly, you could do is straight up say:

PUA: "Hey, are you a psych major?"
HB: "Yes/No."
PUA: Really? Cuz some scientists actually uncovered a part of the brain that absolutely loves shopping, and the more you love shopping, the smarter you actually get!"
HB: "OMG! Really?"
PUA: "Nope! Haha."

As for books, there's a truckload in your local bookstore. Make sure you read the reviews, though.

Ehm, no it's not. The study of behaviour is called Behavioural Science which is a subcategory within psychology. Psychology is very open and a lot falls under it. The actual subject itself covers a lot of topics and things you generally wouldn't think would be covered such as neuroimaging or neuropsychology. There's a lot of different speciliasations you can branch out to. Behaviouralism, psychotherapy(Freudian psychology), neuroscience, clinical therapy, forensic psychology/science, cognitive, developmental... Lots. Needless to say psychology isn't simply "the study of behaviour." Behaviourism is but one school within it.

And "mysticism"... No, just no. Palm reading has zero to do with psychology. The understanding of what goes on in the person's mind who is having their palm read would have to do with psychology but simple palm reading has nada to do with psychology nor does anything to do with magic. Psychology is the scientific understanding of the human mind not mysticism.

I think what you meant was "pseudo-science" as has been a common argument over the "science" of psychology from the days of Freud... and with good reason given Freud had very little scientific credit towards his theories and simply theorised about pretty much everything. All of his studies are either carried out by others without his direct supervision or were complete failures and his patients thoroughly disagreed with his assessments(For instance Anna O and the "Talking Cure"). Freud did a many great thing for the field of psychology but he also did a lot of damage for it's reputation, something which -- in the scientific world -- has taken a long time to shake resulting in psychology becoming a lot more technical and statistical than you would think.
