If you are feeling daring, you could ask how they are, or even ask there name.

What you say as an opener is the most un-important part of picking up girls. How you say what you say is so much more important, and what you do and say to steer the conversation after the opener is right below how you say what you say.

Forget openers. Walk up to a girl, pick out something you like about her and open her with

"Hey, I like your style, my name is"
"Love the scarf, my name is"
"You look adorable, I had to come say hi"

Smile, keep good eye contact, if she smiles back or laughs at a joke, start escalating by either giving her a hug "Oh wow, you're a teacher, you get some respect for that, ill give you a hug for that, you earned it", "I like that watch" (grab her hand and inspect) "I have too many already but I wanted to get a new one from this brand" and when you let go of her hand, check out if she pulls away or if she looks like she's slightly taken back that you let go. If she doesn't look like she really wanted to pull her hand back from you then you can just move your hand to where you are hand in hand and continue conversation.

And keep in mind the entire process should be light hearted, playful, fun. Smiling, giving off good vibes.

As you get more experience you'll find what works and what doesn't.
