I watched a video where Neil Strauss mentioned that direct openers work when
1. Girl is already attracted to you because of looks or status (or whatever visible).
OR
2. You already have higher value(looks or status whatever visible, higher compared to girl at the minimum).

I am a short guy with decent looks and whenever I opened direct till now, at the end I heard "You made my day" or "Appreciate that" but never got a number close. With indirect, my routine is not yet prepared and I have only opened sometimes which didn't go to anywhere and was not able to ask for phone number because it will take some effort to reach that state.

Based on my understanding and a week of experience till now, I feel
Direct Game is better in club setting(when person knows there is almost no other reason for you to talk to them) or when you are better looking than the girl or when you have already demonstrated higher value through environment.

Indirect Game is better for guys who might not match the girl in looks department(but match over with Game/Intelligence/Other things) or Day Game.

What do guys here think?

What's the difference between direct and indirect? Is it the time it takes until you make your intentions clear to the girl? I have always told people who do "day game" (the stupid act of chasing busy girls on the street) to be direct since they have very little time to get results until the girl need to leave, running her errands.

Nah, to me it's all the same. Day or night, direct or indirect. No difference. You just have to be positive and fun and invite people to your party. When you meet a girl you like, you give her IOIs just like she does to you - by touching, smiling, teasing etc. That is enough as a "statement of intent", unless she is plain dumb and doesn't understand that you are interested even if you stick your tongue down her throat. You can give any girl such IOIs at any time, in any environment, as long as the girl has done something to earn it (by investing).
