Background of my friend : 4 years in PUA, unemployed, 28 years old. Parents are extremely wealthy, he drives a 200k car, and gets 5k passive income every month doing nothing.

He has been doing PUA for 4 years straight, but his results are really really bad. He only had 1 lay through warm approach, and the relationship lasted for about 3 months before they broke up.

He hasn't gotten laid for about 2 years and he thinks he is extremely good at pick up because he gets numbers and approach pretty good looking girls. Most of the numbers never go through to a date.

Problem : He is extremely confident of himself, but is unable to back it up with results. He is pretty much a full time PUA. He gets numbers, about 1-2 numbers a night. Most numbers flake or he cannot seem to push through the interaction.

He believes his skills are meant only for supermodels, and he very strongly believes he can lay any girls in the world if he wants to.

What school of pickup does he follow?

Sounds delusional; if you want to be helpful, time to serve up some harsh reality checks. There's no point talking the talk if you can't walk the walk, so find out whether he actually wants to improve at game (and better himself in the process) or simply never change and create the illusion of success to validate his ego.

I've met a few guys like this myself; it's tricky to handle because you don't want to want to offend them, but you don't want to be a passive "yes man" who feeds into a need for approval and acceptance, rather than actually seeing the truth about the situation. If he's willing to listen, let him know he's plateaud for years and together you can discuss how his game can advance beyond a repeated cycle of confident approaches and getting too many weak or flaky numbers.

Unless that one lay was a relationship that lasted 4 years, those aren't wonderful results, no.

If he's getting numbers and not converting them to lays then he's obviously got an issue somewhere in between. Impossible to tell where without more details.

He knows he's shit

I won't go into it but I used to be in a similar situation to his.

Every time he gets rebuffed he tells himself a little lie. Things like "my skill is only for supermodels" (as you said) or "I wasn't that bothered about her anyway, I can easily get somebody better". Do these sound familiar?
His entire life is PU. You tell yourself the same lie enough times you begin to believe it. Very strongly. It becomes you security blanket. Because what are you without that lie? He's too scared to shatter the illusion and admit his entire lifestyle is a lie.

You need to make sure he knows that you like him, respect him and care for him for reasons other than his "PU ability". Don't hate him, pity him. If you're his real friend then you need to be there for him when the walls do come down.

the problem sounds very simple he can open but he doesnt escalate, he just opens number closes and thats it and he considers that a result. it is when you have no friends and you wanna fill up the memory on your phone but other then that no it isnt. maybe hes scared to escalate or very simply doesnt know how

Sounds like your friend is hitting on girls out of his league.
And if he's been at this for 4 years, his time would be better spent in the gym. This guy has to be either fat or skinny to have 1 lay in 4 years, even if he only goes after high class models.

Random luck should have shoved him into at least 3-4 per year just by being in the right place at the right time. ANY dude can bang chicks somewhat hotter than he is, if he goes out non-stop for months at a time. He'll fall ass backwards into pussy, because it can't be helped.

The only reason it won't happen is if he's not hot enough to be talking to these girls. Even guys with no game will occasionally just get latched onto by a drunk/horny looks equivalent girl.

then tried to be himself for another year...then met a girl through warm approach, and they dated for about 3 months...then the relationship ended
he bought a copy of RSD's dvd for like $400 USD...was hyped up...went out approaching about 30 girls over 2 weeks or so...only got 1 date...and then the date flaked...
now he is still using RSD stuffs which i think the materials are great...but he ruin it pretty much...i think the problem lies with his baseline personality

@Chris101 - i shouted, screamed at his regarding his lack of results while he thinks he is some mpua...i also took the very polite way of addressing his problems...neither way works...i told him if that if he is really good, he would be banging girls and all...but he thinks he can easily get any girls he want to, just that he doesn't want to...

@CharlesFinley - he get dates...once a month out of about 50 approaches...the dates always flake after meeting him...and when i tell him there's an issue if he doesn't get laid, he will say the girl feels inferior to him, that is why they flaked...

@Ardour - very good point...his entire life is PUA...yeah, i pretty much shouted at his face but he just keep validating his own skills with his beliefs that he is good because he spent 4 years in this game...and he will always come out with things like "i am going to bang lots of super hot girls, just wait and see!"

@xcrazyoney2kx - honestly he rather underescalate than to overescalate...which is a flaw in itself because he acts as though the girls would do the job for him...he never push for anything after the number...and he assume it is good enough because he thinks that most guys can't do it...

@Versalis - exactly...any random guy, given all the time in the world will get more girls than him...but he believes that most guys cannot get more girls than he do because he has been learning for 4 years...

Sounds like your friend has been doing something wrong for the last 4 years (his entire life if he's always sucked) and he's too stuck up to admit it.

And as for what you can do... mind your own business. Telling him he sucks is just going to make angry and hate you. He needs to figure out that he sucks on his own and admit it to himself. Then he can change what he's doing.
