Hey guys, need your opinion on my FU report.

I went to one fast food chain last week. I looked like shit- unshaved, tired, pretty bad clothes because I just came back to my university town from the summer break. The cashier was giving me IOI- eye contact, smile and starring. I kept it in mind, finished the meal and left.

After a few days I came back to the place, she asked me what I would like to order and I replied "I'd like number..... number.... your cell phone number". Awkward silence.

Me "you are cute. Do you text?". Long awkward silence.

Her "I am flattered but sorry. No"

I proceeded to order, finished my meal, left and saw her coworker was smoking a cigarette outside. I joined him, small talked and asked "Have you seen me trying to pick up your coworker?"

He "haha no. How old are you?"
Me "24"
He "She is 19, her name is Hannah. She just broke up with her boyfriend who is around your age. I will tell her about you. Will you be around?"
Me "Maybe".

I am extremely new at PU and never succeeded at cold approach yet. The experience was incredibly awkward but I will keep trying.

Should I go back there next time or will it make me look clingy and desperate? Where did I screw things up?

I imagine that if you had made a move right when you got IOI's the first time, you would have had better results. Keep in mind that you remember her, but she's seen hundreds of customers after you left, so even if she was interested at first, she now doesn't remember you. Now, let's assume the opposite for a second. If she does remember you, she might remember that you weren't responsive to her initial advances... So in this case, it's lose-lose.

Learn from it and move on. Try having one opener ready to go at any time so you can deliver it without effort when you detect an IOI, that way this won't happen again.
