My sex life has recently gone downhill. And I'm at the point in my life (21 years old) that I dont want any serious girlfriends for the time being, instead I would prefer going on dates, picking up women at bars etc.
I've slept with 6 girls, 3 of which were girlfriends and 3 who we're on nights stands, but recently I think women can smell my desperation for a shag and stay well clear.
I'm halfway through The Game and finding it fascinating, however I feel like some of the methods used aren't right for me.
I feel pretty confident talking to girls and in my appearance. I'm by no means a natural, but I'm certainly not socially retarded and completely clueless when it comes to women.

I would like to know if there are any methods that build on the limited skill that I possess. Potentially something more natural rather than manipulation and fabricated stories?

Listen, I won't answer to your question because this is something you have to find by yourself. It's not something that you can copy that easily from another person, so the only thing that I can tell you is to go out and sarge as much as possible.
It's your choice if you want to do daygame or nightgame, if you want to use routines or try to become a natural. Here in this forum you can find all kind of methods and people using them, so just ask more specifically once you've done your choice. Start with something that you feel comfortable with (I started with nightgame) and then when you become good at it you can try a different method (example: daygame). Once you've made your choice and you have questions, don't hesitate to post them! Many of the problems you can encounter can be solved only here!

Every "method" is just a mutilated piece of knowledge of seduction. I say mutilated because no method exploits all "rules" so to speak. Mystery Method (described in The Game) is a great example. If you analyze that method thoroughly, asking "how does this and that relate to how naturals behave?", you will realize that it only tries to make you avoid stupid and noobish mistakes most people do. And that's it. It doesn't describe shit about seduction! So it's a mutilated model.

Digging further into pickup and seduction (I can recommend The Art of Seduction by the way) will make you realize there is more to it than just one method. Much more! And the more you learn, the more you realize how little there is to it! Please do try daygame and nightgame as if they are two completely different things or "methods". Hopefully it will make you realize that it's all the same - people meeting people. In different states of mind.

And please do learn NLP methods like "pace and lead", as if they are methods of manipulation. It will only teach you that the more effort you need to put behind "pacing", the less natural chemistry you have with a person, and the more incongruent you will become, which in turn will make you realize that your pickup attempt is doomed even when you use this excellent method. Hopefully it will make you learn to pick your targets better - pick the girls you have chemistry with, and never use "pace and lead" again.

My conclusion by learning game is that there are no methods. It's all a question about relating to people. Be open, social, confident and try your best to be in a good mood giving people a good time. Be the guy you've always wanted to be. By learning about all methods you will become aware why you succeed, and why you fail. It is all good knowledge.
