I've chosen my name as "Flame". Should I keep it? Any opinions?

Do people really do this shit? If your name is Mike you should introduce yourself as Mike. If you met a girl and she said her name was Sparkle would you take her seriously?

My buddy did start a pickup name when he started - he went by "Jesus" and would spread his arms like a church. He adopted it because he had a choice between going back to his (not very attractive) ex-girlfriend or starting pick-up, and he chose pick-up.

He got his first number that night (after I told him to go back and ask her for it).

It seemed to work for him, though he eventually dropped it.

Note:

I want to be clear I'm not advocating getting a pickup name - that's stupid. But having a silly name you occasionally throw out while flirting can work well. Much like anything else, it's about the girl having fun.
