Hi,

I am looking for feedback if I am a crybaby or reasonably annoyed. I am 35, she's 36. I am a freelancer, she's a teacher.

As we both have a busy week we agreed to speak on Tuesday to make plans for Tuesday or Wednesday. When I came home I watched the soccer game and waited for her to call. Which she did (twice), albeit on my mobile which is always on vibration only as I cannot risk being called at work and which I have told her before: If you can't reach me on my mobile, try the landline.

I called her back when I realized she'd called but couldn't reach her on her mobile or her landline. She then texted me at 01:00 in the morning, telling me that a friend had returned from a year abroad and had asked for a spontaneous meeting to which she didn't take her mobile with her. (She nearly always leaves her mobile at home, so I do believe her). She apologized for not having sent me a text before leaving. I have no problem with her meeting an old friend passing by and do not begrudge her for chosing this opportunity over hanging out with me on a work day. I am pissed because she neither tried the landline, nor sent me a text nor took her own mobile with her even though we had agreed to get in touch.

In a nutshell:
I feel she was being disrespectful by not really putting in an effort trying to inform me that she had other plans. At the least she might have texted "plans are off, call you tomorrow". Even an E-Mail would have been enough. We live in the 21st century, ffs, it doesn't take a lot to get in touch and stick to an agreement.

Am I being a man-child or do I have a point?
