Should i just say straight up what your # lets catch up?

text her shortly after u leave or whatever say "nice talking w u Missy, i'll let u know when i can meet u for that thing" just so she has yours fresh after the interaction so it solidifies ur face in her mind

I don't give my number that's leaving to chance so I sooner just get hers and text her i do that for most ppl anyway

Two things are wrong:
1) You give her your number?? Dude! You are the alpha male! You have to take the initiative to call/text her afterwards so SHE HAS TO GIVE YOU HER NUMBER! I'm quite sure that most of the girls you give your number to never call you, am I right? I wouldn't risk that.
2)"call me when you want"?? Again, you are the alpha male! You are the busy, important guy that everyone wants to be around so no, you say something (after asking for HER number!!) "I'll text you when I'll have time" (I like to wink after saying that )

Get her number, don't give yours. Option #2 is way better than your option #1 which is pretty weak.
