I tried this opinion opener last night.. not sure whether I came up with it or whether it was borrowed... but have a go with it yourself...

Me: Hey there... I wanna get a female opinion on something... Say you've been seeing someone about 2 years and your thinking of getting engaged... How would you react if you were asked if you would sign a pre-nup?!

I've got a whole field report about how it went (more later)... but what I found good about it was it turned out to be an instant disqualifier... the group/target quite naturally assumed I was the one in the 2 year relationship.

just change it a bit say it's your friend from work and he is just rattled about the situation. make it clear from the beginning and I'm sure it will work better next time

Thats the thing it worked fine (in this instance)... I was able to put them straight about me being single about 10 mins in to the set... and actually got them to meet up with me in another bar later in the night

I suppose as always if you can be congruent with what you say.

I take the advice tho and will tune it down if I decide to try it again. Cheers.
