Hey guys here's what's up. Bit of a sticking point I have is when I tell a story I like to have every detail of that story exact even if its minor example I say I did something on a tuesday night, but then I realize I did it on a wednesday afternoon I feel the need to correct it which in turn leads to me dragging a story out longer then it needs too. Which isn't nessecarily a bad thing it shows I like to take care of all the details. However one time I was with a group of ppl on a holiday I was telling them about the work I did to my car showing pics I got talking about the rims and other parts as well. The 2 guys I was talking to about significantly older than me just got up and walked away as I was showing them the pics. I was with my Dad at the time he notices I drag my stories out too long sometimes too I asked him if I did that there, because its something I wanna correct. He said no that was just ignorance on their part. So later that night guy is telling me about his Dad having major heart surgery part way through the convo I just got up and walked away he was offended I thought I don't give a shit ya your topic is more serious than mine, but I'm not gonna listen to you when you just walk away on me.

Another time recently I was talking to this girl I caught myself quickly and shortened it up. We were talking then mid sentence she just walked away. Later that night she was talking about how her family life isn't good and her bf dumped her I did the same thing and walked away later she said it was rude and she was upset that I just walked away. I was like oh well 1st of all you did the same thing to me 2nd I don't care that you feel your mom is controling move out if you don't like it.

Those are really the only 2 incidents I've had, and I chalk it up to me dragging stories out, but I think a lot of it can be chalked up to ppl being ignorant too.
I'm just curious if anyone else has a problem with dragging stories out longer then need be and how you get or got past it. My biggest problem isn't so much with the dragging out its with the fact I have to have every detail precise. As always any advice is appreciated thanks!
