Hey guys,

This is not the typical "should I hold eye contact with people" thread. I am currently improving my skills on this topic but during this I came up with another question. When i cross girls on the street i want to get in eye contact with them. But often they just look straight and i feel akward trying to fish their eye contact.

So what is the best way to make a girl look in your eyes when you are crossing her?

Look somewhere else and when she gets closer move your head, that she will notice?

Why are you trying to force eye contact?

If you find them attractive, go up to them and open them. You don't need eye contact.

It is not really about the "forcing" here. Getting girls to make eye contact with you has two reasons for me:

1. I think it is a nice training to hold eye contact and smile just with every cute girl you pass
2. How nice would it be if you walk around with your girl and she recognizes that all cute girls are getting into eye contact with you?! powerful social proof i would say

That is basically why i am asking on how to initiate the eye contact with girls passing you, it is not about receiving an invitation to approach or something.

Any ideas?

You can't force eye contact I'm afraid...if you look attractive and seem positive and interesting women will naturally look at you, same way we creep on girls...look your best, smile and just make eye contact with them, if they don't look back it's no biggie.

Yeah i know what you mean, but if they just look straight on their way?! I am searching for something that just makes them look for one second, something like a bait or something that makes them recognize you. "just make eye contact" doenst help me buddy, but thanks anyways.

Nothing. You can't force someone walking past to look at you.

Wear something different, something that makes you stand out. Basic peacocking theory. If girls aren't looking at you then you're not standing out, you're not giving them a reason to look.

Walk with confidence, head held high.

Your post kinda makes it sound like you're running up to girls and staring into their eyes trying to get them to look back at you.

Haha, nono im just trying to fish their eye contact while i am crossing them. Dont think it comes over as creepy or so. Lets say you and the girl are crossing the street from the opposite sides and your walk meets in the middle of the street. Right now i am doing it like i would be day dreaming while i look in something like a 45 angle to the left, so my looks are not pointing at her and then i move my head back to a straight angle and while during this i "recognize" her and look at her for a second. This works in around 30% of the times and she looks also in my eyes then. But i would like to get it to a higher percentage.
