So im currently in year 12 (Australia, probably an equivalent of an american 'senior' student), and I have been noticing a difference in my English teacher and our general teacher student relationship. So a few years back her marriage fell apart, leaving her alone, with a child (by the way, she is only 30). So recently I have just been taking notice of some IoI's she has been displaying, though could it just be friendliness? The IoI's she has been displaying include, parting of the hair when she looks at me, scratching of the hand and asking IoI questions (i.e "how is your girlfriend?" "Oh it's your birthday soon, how old will you be turning?'') So it just got me thinking, should I and how would I have to approach this?

Has anyone else been in a situation like this or is anyone able to offer any advice?

Wouldn't go near that for obvious reasons. If you hit on her you could be thrown out of school. It's her duty to report this kind of stuff and if you do hit on her it could be construed as sexual harassment.

Times are totally different to what old shows and films would have you believe. It's like a minefield in situations like this and chances of you nailing your hot divorced English teacher are slim pickings dude.

I would say as long as you don't do anything that can be factually identified as sexual harassment you should be good, tread lightly and be friendly. Just take your normal amount of ioi and x10 it so that you make sure it's not going to get burned. Probably wait until she makes the move.

So... 30 IoI's and its a go? Ill keep track hahaha
