Went out last weekend, met a decent enough girl(Probably a HB6.5 that night -- no make up) but didn't try anything on her. The girl was going nuts, grabbing me, hovering around me, kissing me on the cheek, begging for photos(She got more and more bombed as the night went on and more bold), started dancing on front of me trying to grab my attention, wanting pictures of us two kissing(I would only kiss her on the cheek) and shit. I wasn't having any of it, she just wasn't that great looking but at the end of the night she asks for my number and my FB so I say to myself "What the hell, no harm in that." I give her my details, she gives me hers and I leave it at that.

The next night I get a message from her and the convo went like this:

Her: "Hey, remember me? "
Me: "Yeah, I remember! Had a blast last night. "
Her: "Yeah, it was awesome how are you getting on?"
Me: "Hungover, think i'm going to die! "
Her: "Lol, me too. Too much to drink."
blah, blah, blah then she talks about the pictures we took and how she liked them...

Me: "You left early and didn't say anything to us! What's wrong with you? "
Her: "I dunno, I guess I was pretty drunk! lol"

Then I let it off, lost interest and just gave her a one word reply.

Anyway, that day I notice she updated FB and she updated her profile picture twice(Once before talking to me and once after) with her in make-up straight after messaging me, wearing sexy clothes and looking fine(Definite HB8/8.5 in these pictures) so two days later I decide to hit her up and say "You look good in those new pictures. You look a lot like Kate Beckinsale(She didn't)." I got no reply.

I'm not crazy about her or anything but i'm wondering what I did wrong here. I'm wondering if it's my messages and re-opener on her? I just suck when it comes to texting women. I can have a conversation going and generate interest but my "text game" falls to shit when I have no real reason to message them but other than that it's generally okay. This also happened with a chick I really like.

With this other chick she's gone on holidays for two weeks. I left her with a message saying "Get in touch when you're home and we'll meet up!" This was literally after she sent me an awkward message saying "I'm leaving now, at the airport. I enjoyed meeting you. Enjoy yourself and good luck. xxx" Chick is foreign so I took that to basically be awkward down to her poor grasp on the English language especially given her interest, having closed her already and her texting me for hours after we hooked up. I ended up messaging her a few days after she left asking how she was getting on. She replies a few hours later and asks how I am(I'm asleep at this point so don't reply immediately).. I end up giving her a boring reply talking about how my friends were where she was and how much they liked it but it wasn't for me. I got no reply after that(Haven't text her since).

What am I doing wrong here? Greatly appreciate any criticisms here!

Whilst not bad in a conversation its terrible as an opener.

Always a bad idea to state that a girl looks good. Something like this would be better and give her something to talk about.

"Hey, nice pictures on fb. I especially like <insert random item of clothing here> most girls wouldn't be able to pull it off"

What I did there was create contact, state something that means you've taken notice of her (her facebook photo) and then compare her against other girls without sounding like a dick. I've placed her above other girls but not above myself. When you iniate you need to bait. Most girls will notice if you give them a compliment without them doing anything. They've done nothing to deserve said compliment so now her reason for communication with you has reduced. She has to earn such attention and compliments. Same as you have to "earn the right" to fuck her brains in.

So to sum up. If you iniate texting. You bait then switch. She'll respond with some bullshit about the clothing (girls can't resist talking about themselves/clothes) which you can then switch around on her and get her to qualify herself)

I only dish out compliments as a form of reward OR if she's having a bit of an intense orgasm as women are pretty insecure by nature whilst she's moaning her head off she'll be worried afterwards that she looked stupid. Compliment her then = she'll be as loud as fuck the next time.
