Ever tried the "tattoo's on girls" opener? Tried it this weekend with great results (turns out one of them had a tat of her ex on her ass). Plus, if you ask for a lighter, its the oldest line in the book, always carry a cool lighter (zippo), shows independence and a certain level of uniqueness.

I always loose my lighters that's why i end up asking... and I know it's the oldest line! Never tried that opener, i will use it 2day. tnks, great stuff!

Somewhat on topic. I open girls that smoke with this:

Me: at 45 degrees, rocking back a little with a very amiable smile, very relaxed. "Hey can I please bum a cigarette"
Her: "sure" goes to get cigarette
Her: hands it to me
Me: I take it, spin it over and hand it back to her and say "sorry I don't smoke" as though she just gave me a cigarette that I didn't ask for. (note, I'm not an asshole about this, I keep it fun)
She: almost always laughs and looks a little confused sometimes. perfect!
Me: "so I wanted to meet you and see if you are my type or not"
She: usually gets a little conversational here, and away we go

It's a bit weak, but I've used a magic trick opener from time to time in beer gardens and the like. If you roll a cigarette inside a £5 note, you can bend it clean in half without it snapping. Generally gets a good reception!
