I disagree with this. To clarify, every routine has it's time and place. Using it poorly or improperly can make you come off as weird. But routines can be just as valuable in day as they can be at night. Check out DJ_aka_donjon's posts as good examples. I too have sat down at coffee shops and used routines with success of getting dates afterwards.
Come on... you're telling me you would actually go up to a girl at the grocery store and start asking her things like:
"Do you think assholes are funny?"
"Who lies more, dogs or cats?"
"Do you floss before or after brushing?"
You would do all of that crap, instead of saying something like, "Hey, this is completely random, but you were gorgeous, I had to meet you."
Indirect in day game just doesn't make any sense.
