Here's the short story: Basically we have been friends throughout college, she's the first friend that I met there. The timing was always off. When she was dating someone, I was single. When I was dating someone, she has been single. 7 years later, we're both young professionals that's looking to have a good time in San Fran. We both were long term relationships (years) but we are now single. I randomly texted her yesterday and we're spontaneously going to San Fran for the New Years to visit some friends. I know I might have been friend zoned already but I had the biggest crush on her in college. What's my game plan for this trip?

Man, normally I would tell you that you have fallen so deep in the bottomless pit of LJBF that you have made it to another galaxy by now... that if the two of you were the last two people on earth, humans would be an extinct species already... that you have been friend-zoned during the first term of G.W. Bush as president... but the real question is: are you ready to jeopardise the friendship you have with this lady for the chance of a relationship with her? evaluate your odds of success: are you her type? has she ever shown even remote signs of attraction towards you? are you compatible beyond a platonic friendship? if the answer to these questions is yes, make your move... given that a) you have known each other since ages and b) you don't have much time (I am guessing a week long holiday the most) you will not have much success with PUA tactics; these are designed for use on more-or-less strangers... what you could use is the PUA mind-set: be seductive, confident, charming, interesting... take her to dinner at a nice place, groom yourself to perfection, wear stylish clothes, treat her like you would a date, and talk to her about the attraction you have towards her... worst thing that could happen is to be LJBF-ed... at least you will know where you stand and will not live with the regret of NOT EVEN TRYING...
