Hey,

This is a post about dealing with depression and anxiety. I've been asked by a number of my regular readers to write about this, as it is a problem that I used to have, but no longer. Naturally they are curious to know how I did it!

If this is an issue that affects you, then you might find this helpful.

NB this is Part 1, there is a ton more to say but I will wait for feedback on this first before writing anything else. Plus I know that not many have the concentration span to read anymore.

You make a few good observations about depression, which incidentally are recognized in the research as being valid contributors to depression. A few points to note however are that having a "it's my fault" belief is not a particularly health thing as depression often stems from self-downing behavior. I do believe, however, that a part of getting out of a depression is to take responsibility for behavior as doing so is the first step to taking steps for change. A word of caution about boundaries in general. Often times a contributor to depression is weak boundaries - allowing ones' self to be taken advantage of. rather than having overly rigid ones. Although both can be contributors.
