I came up with this opener this last weekend when I was out with some friends in Nuremberg. I'll approach a group of girls, or maybe just one and at first say in German, "Excuse me, do you speak English?" Where they then usually say, "Yes, a little," (I've never had anyone say "No" before). Then I proceed to say in English, "My friends and I are about to leave but we aren't from here and we were looking for suggestions on another good bar that we should go to. Do you know any nearby?" This always turns into one of them giving suggestions, but the problem is that it's only usually one of them. The others usually get quiet while one girl speaks and gives me the suggestion. I did try it on a pair standing outside last night and they both engaged rather well. Maybe that's because we were standing up, maybe because we were all smoking, maybe because they had been drinking a little more than others, I don't know. But I'm unsure how to shift this into getting all of them to engage instead of just one of them, and usually it is the one closest to me.

That isn't the biggest issue though. The biggest issue is where do I move on after this? I told them that we were leaving, so staying there talking would be odd. Plus, I'm not sure asking them to come with us, or show us where the bar is, would work.

The only time I have been able to get this going into a real conversation and could have done something with it was with the pair standing outside. Then I found out that they were both 17 (Germans look a lot older than they really are) and decided to say goodnight and move on.

So, this approach is good at opening a set. But where do I go from there?

I live in Zurich. I do this all the time. Last Saturday, I was in a bar and stopped and shocked these two girls. One of them was an 8 and the other one was a bit of UG. I asked where is the good place to hang out in zurich and what is the hottest club for the night. Then I kept it going by asking if they are good friends and did the best friend routine on them. The HB8 laughed really hard, then her boyfriend showed up. When she was leaving with her boyfriend, she was blowing me kisses in front of her boyfriend.

Boy, I could have nail it if there is no boyfriend...

Just be spontanous and prepare a few routines that you can instant plug and play base on situation.
