I've been gaming a girl from OK Cupid. We were due to meet for the first time this afternoon, but yesterday when I texted to confirm whether it was still happening, she said she was sick, but that we would meet up later.

This seems genuine, but what do you think?

I'd kind of like to call (not text) her tonight. We've never spoken on the phone yet, and I'm kind of intrigued! I'm not nervous, and I WANT to talk to her! But if I call her tonight just to "check in" and see if she's feeling better etc, do I risk being friend zoned and seen as AFC by making a "nice" phone call?

If she didn't offer another date then wait for her to contact you. The reason you are so hung up on this one is because you have no other options I assume. In which case the solution is to work on having more options.

I don't think it's AFC to call her but it's not necessary. I mean it won't help you in any way.

You're probably right! Although I actually DO have a couple of other options at the moment, I'm not as keen on them as I am on the girl in question!

I was just thinking that maybe by calling her, I might be able to have a bit of a laugh with her, build some rapport.

Wait a day or two and then check in to see if she is feeling better AND ask her out again, and not in the afternoon, do it at night.

To me it seems like you have the right attitude.. Other than the slight concerns.

You gotta be able to lose em to have em man.

I'd say call her up; phone calls are powerful. You can literary rack up the attraction enough on the phone to have to the girl come straight to your house without every having to go on a date.

And okcupid makes that so easy. I've never went on a date with a girl from okcupid; online-phone call - my place.

Not to sound like a TOTAL dummy, but.... what kinds of things do you say to your girls on the phone to get them to come over to your place, without the need for an actual date?! I'd love to give it a shot!

Any tips on what to say & how to say it (frame, mood, tone etc) would be much appreciated!
