1.) No one owe's you anything. That thought is at the foundation of personal responsibility. I think this is the philosophy of assholes and abusers. Hardheartedness and coldness spring from this.

2.) We owe each other. That thought is at the heart of respect and love. I think this is the philosophy at the heart of much needy and clingy behavior.

When you are used to getting sympathy and lots of affection then you expect sympathy and affection from people. When you don't get it that causes pain. People take different expectations into dating and it is often the source of pain. Some would say that accountability and insults get rid of expecting sympathy, but I think inspiration is the cure.

Those are my opinions. What do you guys think?
