Okay so in having a chat with this hb8 over text and I texted her sayin I was going to sleep, I'm just wondering should you ever text a girl saying goodnight or just ignore her text till next morning

Depends. If you are texting each other back and forth quickly, yes, if there's big gaps between texts, meh why bother.
