I've just been trying out my new opener on a dating site:

"Just to warn you, I don't read profiles. It's not that I'm not interested, it's just that too many girls ruin their mystique and I wouldn't want that to happen to you"

I got an immediate bite from one girl and the conversation went like this:

Her: Oh wow get you ! Warning messages to me are like bee's round honey!! ;;)
Me: Well I guess you don't need me then!
Her: Aww you offering ?! ;;) x
Me: I don't offer myself to strangers, I'm not a slut :p
Her: Haha

So far so good, but she's clearly a girl with options and has made that clear, the simple "haha" at the end suggests that she wants me to entertain her further which I don't think I should do

Any thoughts on how to proceed?

I prefer to not use live chat but to message. however, in this case, just go from here to asking her out. Don't worry about transitions. Go with "So, up to anything exciting this week?" then when she responds suggest you to hang out sometime.

I keep very to the point with my online chat.

I don't do 'cocky/funny'.

Within the second or third email I am setting up dates or demanding their number.

I have found this system effective in weeding out those who are genuinely interested and those who are not.

I do not focus on what they say to determine their IL. I focus on their responses to dates/number requests.
