Hey I have no idea if my text game is alright, im guessing it is kind of weak. I have blanked out a few things to make me more annonymous but it should still be very readible. Please can you tell me what areas are decent and what can be improved! Id really appreciate any input.

Before you start, something to note is that she always uses exclaimation marks alot, its not that she is into me, its just that is what her habit is. So I decided to also use them a lot to mimic her and keep the energy.

HER- Hiii!! How are you? Back in *blank*?

ME -hey Emily, im great! Yeah im back at Uni at last
hows France?

HER - Good!! Hows second year treating you so far? Its alright thanks, slowly settling in! I'm supposed to be working but all my lessons keep getting cancelled so I'm just sitting in my office eating a baguette, ahaa! Just like a french person would!

ME - hahaa that's awesome, have you tried snails yet? I think I have caught flu off of all the germy freshers, apart from that, and the load of coursework ive been given so far, it couldnt be better

HER - No! And no frogs legs yet either! Theres an M&S though so I've had victoria sponge cake!! oh no, not freshers flu! Good, have you been to many freshers events? One of my friends is doing the radio this year so shes been working at loads of the events.

ME - try them! I ate them in GCSE french, if you close your eyes they are alright I havent been to any freshers events but I wanted to go to the *blank* but that was freshers only, also we had *blank* here the other day but the tickets sold out i think

HER - Haha, Its just the idea of them that puts me off!! Ohh, thats annoying, I've heard the *blank* are really good! Oh yeah, I heard he was gonna be there. *my university* always seems to have better freshers events than *her university*!

ME - Thats because *my university* is the better uni The *blank* is amazing, had an awesome time at that last year! Does anything cool happen at your uni in france?

HER - Seems like it!! Haha! I'm not connected to a uni here because I've got my job but all the bars near me do happy hour so thats pretty good! They're nowhere near as good as the bars in *blank* though. I miss revs so much, coming home in a few weeks so revs is definitely top of my list! Haha!!

ME - Thats kind of cool, i've never been to Revs believe in or not! In first year I tended to go to the union most nights out. I'm guessing Echo's is at the bottom of your list right! haha

HER - WHAAAAATT?!! Revs is the best place in *blank*, you have to go this year! They do the best cocktails, drank way too many before I came too Paris! I would put Ambers at the bottom of my list, have you been? Its horrible!! Its like Spoons but its awful!!

ME - Im definitely going to have to check out Revs then, to see what all your hype is about! Ill add it to my to do list, along with rollercoasters, which im actually going to do iin a few weeks time! Never been to Ambers either, but im guessing thats a good thing!

HER - Yeah do it!! Oooh, are you going to *theme park* or something? *blank* fair soon too!! Gutted I'm not going to be there for that!! Yeah, I'd leave Ambers off your list if I were you!

ME - Im going to *blank* at *theme park* yeah! I just thought what the hell might as well give it a go! Maybe I should go to the fair first as a warm up instead of being thrown in the deep end!

HER - Awesome! I've not been there in ages! Are you gonna go on the *blank*? Maybe Magic Mouse at the fair would be a good start and you can work your way up from there!!

ME - hahaa Im really not sure Emily, I have no idea what i'm letting myself into! The magic mouse sounds perfect right now! What do you suggest?

HER - Hahaha! I used to be like you with roller coasters but now I love them so hopefully you will too! Start with the kiddy one, like the little cars that drive round, haha!! Then magic mouse, then you'll be all set to go on *blank* at *theme park* and then who knows - the possibilities are endless!!

ME - Now I just need to convince someone to join me on the kiddies rides which might be a problem! For once I hope I turn out like you! Rides do look fun if your not scared!

HER - Haha! Yeah, that would be hilarious to see!! They are!! And then if you get really brave you could go on Space Roller/Top Buzz at the fair. Thats my favourite!

ME - It would be hilarious for everyone except me, you know when I was a kid I had to get the carnival merry go round to stop because I was going to puke up!

HER - Awww, bless! Has it scarred you for life?!

ME - Not anymore, thanks to all the therapy

HER - Haha! I say its time to face your fear again!

ME - If you see me in the local paper then you will know it went horribly wrong! Anyway, I got to head off, some of us have work to do instead of lounging around eating baguettes! Let me know when you are back in *blank* and we can catch up

HER - Haha! I'll look out for it! Okay, have fun with that, i'll just continue to stuff my face! Yeah, I'll text you, we can play pool again and this time i'll win!! See you soon!

ME - Awesome, see you!

I think you did a good job.

The overt usage of "!" bothers me a bit, but it doesn't seem to bother her. However, I would cut down a bit on the exclamations only because it makes you sound really chirpy and high-voice (via text of course). Be a little more selective as to where you want to emphasize a point with an exclamation.

Pros:
- She was receptive and length of texts were basically on par with yours
- Her level of enthusiasm was good
- She subtly suggested doing things together: playing pool, overcoming your fear of roller coasters (good line on the therapy thing by the way) etc.

My initial thoughts are that she is definitely interested and wants to see it go further. You have the control right now as I can see from the texting, so all you need to do is move a little more (isolate and hang with her).

This actually seems to be one of those situations where you are in the clear and basically whatever you say or do is going to be met with hope and positivity.

good luck man

Thanks for taking the time to critique it. I agree that I feel the exclaimatio points are oversused!!!
The wierd thing is though, that our text conversations have been much like this in the past, so lets say that that side of my game has been decent, the only thing is, when we did go for a date to play pool, it was sort a disaster so I am unsure why she would be so receeptive to another date!

Anyone else reading this, it would be awesome if you could give me some advice on my text game too

Maybe the date wasn't as bad as you thought?

Because if it was a bad date, she's not trying to spend a ton more time with you. However, she still mentions it and then wants to go again...so its probably not bothering her as much as its bothering you. Which is good!

Maybe she saw potential for a better date?

Regardless, get another date and nail it this time.

Yeah, I do have a feeling it is just a friends date. I just read that using lots of exclaimation points in text can be to show friends, whereas if you were to be into someone, you would play it more cool and tone down your excitement. Also I had a feeling there was no sexual connection between us. Its making me feel unconfident, as I dont wont to excalate for he to turn round as say she just wants to be friends.
