Obviously I'm new around here and I just finished reading The Game, by Neil Strauss. I enjoyed the book but it seems geared towards older guys, and I was wondering if there were any techniques you'd like to share for younger high school age guys looking to pick up girls. A little background:
I'm in high school, and for most of my school life I've been pretty awkward around girls I like. There's the distinction, hot girls or even just girls I like make me a lot more nervous and awkward, even though I can carry on a conversation with a mediocre girl. I've only ever had one girlfriend and it wasn't very serious (I'm not a senior yet).
I sit next to a girl I'm into in my art class (it's laid back and you can talk all you want) but I don't know her very well and she doesn't know me very well either. I talk to her every once in a while but I need to know how to carry on a conversation and not end it and move onto different subjects. I'm pretty good looking, medium height, good teeth, medium short hair but I'm pretty skinny (I'm still growing).
If you guys could help that would be AWESOME, and I hope to contribute to this forum later on from knowledge that I pick up along the way.

Word of advice, in high school and college settings you should not even bother to try PUA, especially any of the techniques like cold approaches and peacocking. PUA was meant more for the real world and it works in bars where the girl you approach you will most likely never see again. Now in high school and college, PUA techniques don't work as well because everyone is in a closed system.

Even with Simple Pickup, they can do what they do because they don't attend the universities they daygame the girls at, they are just outsiders clowning around.

Now for us students, we have to take another approach. Use the PUA to build inner game and learn about the basics of talking to women but most important just focus on making friends, becoming popular, getting invited to the major parties, and then focus on getting laid. In fact, talk to guys more and try to become their friends.

If you love the girl's words, you can do a bit more romantic things for her, let her feel your good, if she completely indifferent that she doesn't like you. You should know the girls usually living habits and hobbies, so you have more topics to chat. E.g. she loved movies, animation, you can try to talk to her about the content, love needs to use the mind.

I'm in high school too, and I'm not going to attempt pick up in my high school. Too much unnecessary drama and social implications could come out of it that I don't want to have to deal with. I'm still going to practice and learn pick-up, but I'm going to do it at places like the mall or other towns.
