ok, so I was planning on making my female friend to introduce to this HB. My friend and this HB are classmates from sect A last year.

So the scenario would be somehow like this:

At the college party....

Female friend: Hi Rachel, this is Randy, my friend.

Me: Hi...(shake hand then pause for a few sec)... You know what, you look familiar, are you from section A from last year?, I was also in that class but I only attend one subject.

HB: Oh really?

Me: yeah..... ummmmm.. ????????????????????????????????

I was actually planning on looking for our similarities so I can build rapport but I don't know what questions to ask other than the first one.
Can you supply me conversation topic/question I can use to find similarities?

talk about the class, transition to another topic, talk about how you met your friend (you can always transition to whatever topic you want with an "anyways..."), talk about a cool movie you saw, etc. Don't worry so much about transitions in conversation, they are VERY overrated.
