To number close I have been using this one lately "I don't mean to be forward, but I want to see you again". After first part she is like "omg he is going to ask me to sleep with him already? What a dick". Then she hears the second part and is like "oh wow he is different from other guys, what a sweetie"

Maybe people already use it (I'm quite sure they do) but wanted to share. Hasn't failed yet.

In my humble opinion this certainly isn't direct, if anything your telling the girl your idea of being forward is wanting to see her again.

Direct/Forwardness usually has sexual connotations, this has none.

I tend to disagree, I find that most people tend to oversexualize everything. You can be direct in any aspect of your life, it simply means asking "directly" for what you want..

Seems pretty weak to be honest. Just say, "lets to drinks, when are you free?"

"I want to see you again." Implies she has the choice. Tell, don't ask permission. You're the gas, she's the breaks.
