Today I saw this cute girl at subway she was sitting by herself texting. It was a long line so when I finally got my sandwich some guy was already introducing himself. Would it be possible to still approach her and steal her from the other guy or is it not polite to intervene.

Dude unless it's your buddy who's gaming the girl then being polite doesn't matter at all. If you're confident in your game and think you could do the steal, go for it.
