This HB been out of town for the past 3 weekends, family trip, bachlorette party etc. She's finally back and she's doesn't know what to do this weekend (her friends asked her to go on another trip) But she said she was tired for another trip. So I say...

HB: We can hang out this weekend if you want

I don't know why, just sounds rude or disinterested. Or am I over analyzing it? What would be a good response? Its the "if you want" part, I tried so hard not to post here cause it seems like such a dumb question. But I have zero clue whether to be upset or happy. rofl

youre over analyzing it, she sounds shy "if you want" is like a guy saying "you should join me". They both indicate interest in your company but they show that if you don't come, they would be indifferent. Cheers

I'm as over-analytical as you, so I know where you're coming from. If you want it pinned down, your used of the word "just" didn't much help. NEVER use the word "just" where anything to do with yourself is concerned. I agree her response sounded mildly disinterested, but it was only reciprocating the way you downplayed YOURSELF.
Yeah she sounds DTF to me, stop thinking and enjoy!
