I've been thinking independently, going in many directions, after a massive amount of study into the essence of Pick up. For me, I'm not into the game for HB's, tho don't get me wrong, I love HB's and I want a new one each nite! For me, I'm interested in conquering fear, no, not just conquering it, but keeping it in my basement as a slave, and every night before I go to bed I slip down there whilst it is sleeping and beat it with a whip. Which brings me to my point, and thus my question. My point is, or rather the idea i submit to you, is that almost every idea, technology, or technique in the community is one of ether conquering fear, reducing fear, or rerouting fear. Everything is based on fear. The fear of the Approach. The fear of silence. The fear of judgment. The fear of being laughed at or made fun of. The fear of touching a woman, or telling her that you want to kiss her. The fear of taking her by the hand. The fear of flirting. THE FEAR OF BEING ONESELF. I heard gambler say that " you cant be yourself, because if you keep on doing the things you have always done, you will only get the things you have always gotten." I think this is a little deceptive. Because we are not being ourselves, we are being a fearful retch when we approach women. If we were confident, and literally fearless, it would not matter what we said or did, because there would be no way to fail.

I submit to you one final example/idea. I play chess. When i care about the result of the game im playing, be it because its an important game in a tournament, or i just really don't want to lose, i find myself losing more often, and making more mistakes. Yet, when i consciously make the mental choice to not care and to be free of the fear of losing, or making a bad move, the pieces just flow, the game becomes natural and i win A LOT more.

SO ...What do you guys think about fear? Do you think its a little thing in your life? Or a huge thing? Do you think I'm right, halfway right, or completely off track? What fears to you guys struggle with, in PU and out of PU...?

I also play chess, and I understand where you're coming from. It's a problem that beginners have- it's more of social facilitation problem. If you're a beginner in seduction or chess or anything, anxiety from fear will affect you in negative ways. Just like many studies done on social facilitation, if you're not good at something and you add an anxiety factor of people watching, you will do worse. If you're good at something, your performance will actually improve from having a comfortable level of anxiety.

If you're just starting out, you need courage to overcome the fear you might have. Once your courage turns into confidence, and your confidence turns into competence, there isn't much fear left. There is an anxious rush you get from new experiences, but it's not from fear.
