So I downloaded Instagram and got started with the instamessage app today. I decided to go with the "omg, you look like a girl who takes ages to get ready!" line and sent that to about 15 girls.

Most of them didn't respond, a few engaged in really brief conversation and one legitimately hot girl got angry and gave me the whole "you don't know me!" line and said not to talk to her again.

I think negging only works if you're already very attractive (when it comes to OLD).

main issue with this post- why use instagram to hit on chicks?

why not use a dating site app- where women are there and in the state to get hit on???

My one concern is that when a girl actually agrees to a date, I might not be as witty in real life and she might be disappointed. I am a pretty funny and witty guy, but only once ive gotten to know someone well...

Any suggestions for this?

You don't need online openers. You just need to think a little bit. I met a chick on IG once. I went to see what my friends were liking. I liked a photo from this chick. She was into running and so was I so I looked at her profile and asked how often do you run? You can't just say Hi or What's up? You have to take the time to find out what they are interested in. It's just like any other online dating site except there is no profile. Let's be honest though, most people don't read those profiles anyway, but a picture is worth a thousand words. You can learn alot from these pictures. You want to be like one of those fraudulent psychics on TV. You cold read. Is she wearing a Bob Marley shirt, she probably smokes weed. Is she an adventurer going on hikes? If she goes hiking talk about that and be funny. Let your natural charm come about.

When I go on POF I do a search for similar interests with 25 miles from me. I don't just look at my matches. I want to date chicks that work out and eat right. I want to date chicks that are into punk rock tattoos. Then the conversation comes naturally. Hey I like Tiger Army pomade. What type of pomade do you prefer Layrite or Suavacito? I already know they have an answer. Chances are they like Elvis, old cars. and Bettie Page too So you just keep the conversation going. If they are into running see what type of shoes they wear. The point is you want to seem like a cool guy that has a lot in common with her so you can get her to the bar and into your bed as soon as possible.

I once found a girl on instagram who had an online clothing store and a link to her twitter account, so I went to that and just simply messaged her asking about her online store and what not and then she started asking about me and yadayadayada fast forward to now about a month later, she is texting me like crazy im arranging to have her come over sometime next week. i literally just learned about this stuff 3 months ago after getting my millionth ljbf speech, so if i can do this, anyone can! the more followers and internet fame they have, the more they crave your attention if you give it and take it away correctly! cat string is great once they're interested. and its kind of funny because now whenever i dont text her for a while, i see her posting and tweeting about punk bands because she knows thats what im into and is trying to get my attention haha. so in my opinion you really dont need canned openers or anything like that.

Well, idk about the others here, but I still go out and meet girls. I just use dating sites from time to time as an extra option.

As for IG vs POF, I say use whatever is working for you. On POF, I got a bunch of girls to message me first and I love the "Viewed Me" section. I've met up with 2 girls on POF so far. No f-close yet, but it'll come soon. IG is still a good alternative if you know how to use it properly. One thing that's good about IG is that there are a lot more pictures, so you can almost definitely find something that you have in common with the girl.

All in all, online dating is a great tool, but shouldn't be relied on.
