Got a number from an online dating site, now what?

I'm just starting out with the game, and have started using routines in an online dating site. I have had some success, and for whatever reason have taken to getting numbers from the site, even though the site can be used effectively by itself to contact girls.

My question is, after building some rapport online and procuring a phone number, where should i take it from there? Should I call or text the girl? and should I contact her to continue building rapport or wait until I want to arrange a date?

I know that with a number I get from a girl I interact with in person it should just be used to arrange meetings, but what's the protocol for a number I get from an online dating site?
