The Back-story: I just moved to a Savannah, and decided to go check out a dueling piano bar. I wasn’t real looking to hook-up just to relax after a tough week. After a few hours at the bar, the little Al Bundy voice in my head was getting to great come on look at all these ladies just open on one set…just one set. Maybe just one…

The Girl: A recently divorced housewife with a pretty nice body for having kids. She was your very stereotypical southern belle.

The Situation: She sat in front of me with her friend. Once my new friends left, I asked if I could join their table. I hate sitting alone and just moved to town and this was my first Friday night in Savannah. She introduced herself and her friend then they started making fun of this guy beside us that was trying to break in a hen party, but failing miserably. I gave the guy props saying that was the 3rd hen party tonight.

Her friend: How old do you think those girls are?
Me: Around 22-23.
Her friend: How old are you
Me: Old enough to remember that phase.

A few minutes later…

Her: What brought you to Savannah?
Me: Work.
Her What do you do for a living?
Me: I work at McDonalds (with a slight smile)
Her: Oh, so you help them start up and getting going.
Me: Not really, I actually work at the airport, not McDonalds (then I explained what I do). What do you two do?
Her: We work for husbands, but I just got divorced so I’m going back to the workforce. I was a teacher before I became a stay at home mom.
Me: That’s cool
Her: Oh, so do you live in Savannah?
Me: No, I live in Pooler ( suburb) because of work. I didn’t know anyone before I moved down here to ask for advice on where to live.
Her: Oh, someone your age should live downtown.
Me: Yea, I’d love to, but I don’t think my dogs would like apartment living.
Her: You have dogs! I love dogs!

I pulled out my phone and showered her a picture. She complimented me on them, and started hating on her friend not being a dog lover. Her friend started looking at my photos, and next thing I know it was “let me put my number in her in case you have any questions about Savannah”. After a few more songs, I asked the friend if I could take her picture for my phone because I don’t answer number I don’t recognize and because everyone one of my contacts has a picture with it. Her friend went bat s**t and didn’t want to do it, and just said whatever. But than she give the friend “the you’re not being fun look” and boom it was picture time.

After a few more songs, the friend said something (it was really hard to hear in the bar) and she was gone. It was me and the cougar, finally. But after a few minutes of small talk I started thinking about the logistics:
1. 30 min. from home with both the roommates where there.
2. My car was about 5 blocks away and not sure how it’s the silver Saturn Ion right over there. Let me just move this… would go.

There was a Hyatt hotel across the street, and thought about a trying for room there, but I wasn’t sure how that would come off. I decided to just let it ride.

Between songs…

Her: This is the first time in a long time, I’ve been out, I was with another girlfriend early tonight at Bonefish… But **** drug me out here (she said something else, but I can’t remember. It was something wanting me to validate how she looked)…I hope she hasn’t left since she’s my ride home. I’m going to see if she’s in the bathroom. Will you watch my purse?
Me: Yea, sure.

After a few min. she came back, and asked if I ‘d seen her. I said “no” and she said “oh, I go check outside…I hope she didn’t leave because she’s my ride home” with purse in had she walked outside not to be seen again.

Take Away….
Positive Pre-Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
Any time, you go out plan like your going to bring her home.
A lot of the guys in the bar were hitting on the hen parties because they’re pretty visible targets, but when two ladies mid-aged women walk in by themselves that should be a big flag.
Don’t spend a lot of attenuation with the one you want just enough to keep her interested.
Don’t fall hit the landmine Kids, Divorced, Work if she brings it up steam though fast and furious
If you miss your opportunity to say something funny or segway into a routine you’ve missed it DON’T TRY TO GO BACK.

Personal Take Away…
I need to get better at night game because day game doesn’t work very well in the dark.
This experience taught me, I’m still making AFC mistakes, and this was on a golden platter.
Questions, advice, or comments…
