I wanted to see if anyone else has done this before.

Me and a mate were at a club in a city a few weeks back, and we were taking in turns dropping the most cringe-worthy pickup line possible, then dismissing it as a joke - as an opener.

For example:

Me: "Hey, how much does a polar bear weigh?"

Her: "Umm, i dunno?"

Me: "Enough to break the Ice, I'm Ronnie" (this is from a movie, I can't remember which one though)

Then after her reaction I'd say something like,

"Imagine if I was serious".

Found some mixed responses, a few just looked us up and down and walked off haha.

Then another asked me to go out onto the dancefloor with her haha

But it was fun, anyone else tried this?

I've found that pick up lines can get rather mixed results.
If you're congruent with the vibe you're going for, and you're simply enjoying the moment, you can come up with better things. Trust me. They're like pick up lines, only better. Since they're more or less original, and come from you.
From time to time, however, pick up lines can be great fun.
Imagine this:
You see a gorgeous chick, you approach, start doing your thing. She asks: "Is that a pick up line?/Are you trying to pick me up?/Aren't you too old to use a pick up line?" Right then, you give her the cheesiest pick up line you know: "You're wearing that dress like you're doing it a favor. That's a pick up line." You'll both be laughing or at least smiling.

To be honest, I never believed in pick up lines. For me, it's only an ice breaker. You could pretty much say ANYTHING you want, you just need to say it with confidence. The fun part with pick up lines it's that the girl will know (most of the time) it's a pickup line and will go with it if you have a fun vibe.
