Her: Ummm i start work next week 9-5 and i dont think i should have coffee at night haha so usually on the weekends i'm free

Okay so this girl I took a class with last summer is back in town and she hit me up out of the blue and I'm trying to get this to a get together. I haven't seen her in a year so I'm walking a fine line but I need help on my next text

Idk what to say next but i was thinking something along the lines of "Oh that poor city has no idea what they're in for And that's good, I wasn't actually free those days, i was just making sure you were occupied so you didn't come begging cause i would have been bad telling you i can't "

It's like you've vaguely asked her out three times, but then you didn't. It's painful to read all of that.

Just forget about asking her out for a short while and inject some flirting in your texts. If she flirts back then you can go ahead and BE CLEAR in asking her out.

Alright so I jumped the gun initially and now having read your posts I realize that i was too damn wishy-washy. But I managed to save it (I think) so instead of leaving you guys in the dark I'm going to post the rest of the convo This is where I stopped, read the replies, and decided to pick up my balls and just pull the trigger like a man
So there you have it. I got a confirmation. Was it pretty? No. But this is also my first phone I've had that wasn't an embarrassment for texting so I'm still new to this aspect of socializing haha

Now here comes the new challenge: I got the date set BUT the way timing has worked out, i now have little over a week of time in between where she could potentially flake out on me. How do i keep this spark going? I want to work on text game really badly more than anything; possibly even more than f-closing this girl. "Teach a man to fish" kind of thing haha

anyway, now flake on saturday and wait till she texts back asking why you werent there to pick her up. say you had this thing, etc and arrange a new meeting. if she doesnt text you back, she wasnt interested in the first place, so why bother.

BINGO. That's what I wanted to do but it was all about getting to that point haha. Still so new to this. It's pretty different. With texting I can't calibrate as easily as in person or over the phone, I can't use touch to show my interest or even see body language outside of smilies, and it's fairly one on one with no way of using a friend to elevate myself. What a trip

Anyway here's my next challenge: Keep some "spark/interest" up until next Saturday where I can then flake out and get her back to craving my time and attention. The catch? I want to be able to do this all via text messaging. Not because I'm afraid of talking on the phone or over Facebook (yes we're Facebook friends, and after a tiny bit of digging, I found out she really is going to the city this weekend to meet up with some old classmates) it's because I want to hone my skills, or lack there of, in text game.

My motivation?
Since getting my new phone (i couldn't afford a fancy phone, I was a broke college student) I feel as though my lack in text game has lost me two women. One I met during the day and the other I met at a party. I refuse to keep going through this blind so I want to learn by trial and error (if I lose another one because of bad texting, who gives a shit? As long as I learn from my mistakes) and with the guidance of you guys
