How long before asking again?

i asked a girl to come the park with me. I think she likes me as we have been texting alot for about a week, on and off like dont want to seem to keen, she texts first if i dont text her.
When i asked her the response was she is really sorry but she is with her mum. This may be a lie or the truth i dunno however, i am wondering when i should ask again as i dont want to come across as needy. How long do you think i should wait?

I'll ask you this... did you text her to invite her out? Or did you pick up the phone and call her.......?

Texted her....
I know all about its beeter to phone however, we havent already spoke on the phone so i thought it would be strange to phone her up this time.
I'll phone her next time if you think i should ask again?

I think that you should ask her again. It wouldn't hurt to ask her again, unless she thinks that you are very annoying.
