Hi, I'm relatively new to the pick-up scene, but I have read a lot of material about it. What I want to know is, is it a good idea to try and pick-up my customers at my job, grocery store cashier. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I am just getting on the scene too. I need some monster work for sure.
I was wondering the same thing about picking up customers. I can open easily and get in a few negs without getting called on it, but DHV is a bit difficult, I mean I'm a waiter, and i have only once got a #-close.

Any ideas?

Yeah when a hb comes up to you, you say

pua : Hi

Hb : Hi, just these please *she hands you the goods*

pua : sorry youll have to join the other que...this is the que for my number

dont give in make her join the other que or take your number.

I'd love to pick up girls in my line, but do you think I could get away with that? And would that be telegraphing interest too soon?

Thats a pretty good line. Damn if I only worked in a grocery store I would use it.
You think it would work if I reversed it to the cashier? Or would it seem to try hard.

Like standing in line with the object under your arm have your phone out so it looks like your not paying attention and when she makes some sort of gesture for you to give her the item you say something to the effect of
"Well? I'm ready."
HB: "you need to give me the ______"
you: "what? oh damn I thought this was the line for your phone number"

maybe? I'll see if I can ballz up to try that next time I see a cute cashier and tell everyone the result.

It's okay unless you get in trouble. I work at Walmart and I pick up the Cashier's and Customer Service girls. For opener's for customers I would use the opener:
"Did you have a great time shopping at [your store name]?" This will usually get a YES or a NO. Whatever they say follow it up.
IF YES: "Good, I'm glad you had a pleasurable experience. What did you find most useful?" THIS IS A INDIRECT AND ALSO A OPINION OPENER.
IF NO: "Sorry to hear that! I wish I could be at all any assistance. What would you like to helped with when the next time you come in the store?" This is a OPINION OPENER which is also a INDIRECT one.

Reminder: Please use INDIRECT GAME with these customers. Do not DIRECT GAME unless you know there is IOI's in the interaction. IF they are giving you IOI's then proceed with a DIRECT OPENER like this one:
"Did you buy anything for me?" Remember to smile! This is a must because it will relieve tension.

Usually when I see someone with flowers in their cart I would be C&F (Cocky and Funny)

ME: Awww! You are so kind! You bought me flowers! How sweet!
They will usually laugh at this and this is an IOI to proceed with conversation.
