Okay, so I see plenty of threads on online dating, which I think is, well, calling it "hit or miss" is an understatement. I have something I just need to get off my chest and you guys can feel free to disagree, and/or tell me how you met my mother online. I've made this argument to my friends and they've brushed me off. Then I see the kind of girl they get on POF and I want to make them an urology appointment.

I'm not trying to flame here (just have strong opinions) but POF is a JOKE guys. Come on. Match/Zoosk, anything else is better. Don't you realize how much more success you'll have with a woman who will pay to have the chance to meet you? I mean, she's invested in that first date in more than one way. She's going to want something to happen.

I've signed up for two months total, and gone on two dates (busy w/school). One became a fwb for several weeks which was awesome (f-close on first date, hadn't done that before at that point), and I ended up dating the other one for a few months. They were both attractive and very eager to please me. The monthly fee was quite, shall we say, cost-effective.

POF on the other hand is free and you get what you pay for. Everyone girl feels fine with blowing it off because it doesn't matter, they are not invested. Women know they will find a higher-quality man in someone who is willing to invest money and time into dating. And from girls have told me, POF has way more sleazy guys than other sites, so girls have their guard up much higher. So. Consider the options.

(I might mention that eHarmony has kind of the opposite problem because it's quite expensive, it has a reputation for building relationships. And while I'm on the subject, every time I see an ad for ChristianMingle [bible belt] I feel bad for these women. CM is like nothing but 29+ year old unattractive women with ticking biological clocks who have never had success in a relationship because they don't put out. The exact mirror image of a PUA)
