Not sure if this has been done before, but I started thinking about it today.

Opens like, "Who do you guys think is better: Tigger or Eeyore?"

blah, blah, blah

To target: Calm down Tigger!/Cheer up Eeyore!/Stop worrying Piglet!/Etc.

To rest of set: Did you ever notice that Winnie the Pooh seemed to be loosely based on psychological issues? Eeyore was depressed, Tigger had ADHD, Piglet had anxiety...Even Christopher Robin had issues. He was seeing all of these talking animals, clearly he's schizophrenic.

Set: *laughs*

I do enjoy this opener- plus the fact that it's completely true! It's fun, quirky, and no one expects to be asked a question as random (and as honestly simple) as that.

I only tried using this once though, because after I opened with that and we all had a bit of a laugh and a giggle, I had no idea where to go from there once the topic had died down a bit. I ended up reverting back to fluffing with the group. Eventually I got a number but that's all.
What do you think a great follow up to this opener could be?

Excellent question. This opener gives a few opportinities to be playful/cocky and tease while engaging the group in the rest of the "Christopher Robin has schizophrenia" schtick. I think it would be relatively easy to DHV with something like "I really like Kanga because she was protective of Roo and that's how I am with my friends."

I think a good follow up with similarly comedic results would be the "Who would win a fight: Pirates or Ninjas?" opener. DHV with a "I've been doing martial arts since I was a little kid, so my money is on the ninjas." Check the target for an IOD/IOI, Hit her with a Neg if IOD, give her a compliance test if she IOI's and then if she complies off into A3,

Ooooh look at you, going all DHV straight away haha! That sounds like a good way to go.

I have done similar openers along that sort of line, my favourite opener like this is; "So, what would you rather fight- one horse sized duck or many duck sized horses?"

It can really bring about a lengthy discussion- especially if you open a set with guys in. I've once forgotten all about the target and engaged in detailed discussion with these guys on why one horse sized duck would be better to fight. Luckily, the target stuck around long enough and I managed to escalate things with her. DHV towards her by mentioning that "I've run for years, so no duck could catch Me... Then again, not many things could 'catch' me." Could make her want to prove you wrong by 'catching you.' Etc...

Openers are stupid.

Introduce yourself and start flirting.

They won't even remember what your "opener" was anyway.

So just go with "Hi" and reach out for her to shake your hand.

That being said, situational and opinion openers work only if there's something warranting it in the immediate environment. Then it's just breaking the ice and talking about something that you both can see.

But scripting an opener and crafting it full of little tricks is a total waste of time.

To Warped and Skills: Quit trolling. The better you get at game the less you have to use of it.

As to the opener, I like it. Very cute, funny and sets the mood as lighthearted. It's a good conversation starter. This said, it lacks in 'attraction' building but if you're skilled enough you can definitely ramp up the interaction by escalating once you have the group laughing. Laughter is always a good tell whether to proceed with your next gambit or not.

Surely if you jump straight in by being seductive, you reduce the reply % to around 50-50 because most women do have Bitch Shields? Thats not to say that it doesn't work, but I've found that English girls that I have to open are very quick to class people as creepy, so seductive needs to be phase-shifted in more cases than not. Because of that, light-hearted introductions can then lead towards seductive overtones.
