I have some problems with opening with totally fake opinion openers or stories. I find it very difficult to be congruent with some of them. Consequently, I am trying to develop my own material which is true.

This happened to me yesterday:

I was at a restaurante with my ex (we're still great friends, etc) and this lady came back from the bathroom and was getting ready to leave with her family. As she was putting her coat on, i noticed that here was a VERY obvious and LARGE piece of toilet paper hanging out from her pants

I prodded my ex to look over, i could hardly contain myself. I thought it was funny, and I wanted to take the lady asside to tell her, so she wouldn't get embarassed. My ex didn't think it was funny at all, haha.

I never did tell her, she wasn't out with friends. they were heading home, there were few people around, and her family won't make fun of her (maybe just giggle)

MY POINT IS: can this situation be made in to an opinion opener where I ask if you think you should tell her in this situation, or just let it go becaues she likely won't be embarassed too much by it. or is it a major DLV to talk about laughing ('making fun of') a person?


i feel like this has a lot of potential, to DHV that i was with an attractive girl, who took me out to dinner, etc. (there's lots of other good details in this story i can use to DHV). I would be congruent with it. But would it make my target think i was a sleeze?

i like it. but you're right, girls get offended at funny shit like that. i'd say try it on a warmup set.

its not really an opener though.. maybe an a2 piece or something "get this.. blah"

You're right, it may be funny but it would've hurt her feelings. However to DHV with your ex you should've went up to her and told her polietly that you couldn't help noticing but there was TP hanging out. ALso that you thought it would be better if you told her than her family. This may have eased it and made her feel better. You should get a thank you out of it and maybe a FLUFF talk.

However, it would be a great opener with other TARGET's. This would be a SITUATIONAL OPENER. Say along the lines next time you go out without sounding like a prick. THis will also DHV and you should have a HOOK-POINT soon.
