I met this girl at school. I teach college and she' s a student, though not directly mine. She was sitting in my lab, doing her homework.
During the lab, as I was going around to check people's assignments, when I was passing by her, she made a giggling comment about not having her homework done! After class, when I was getting ready to leave, I went over to her and asked if she was done. She laughed again and said it was her birthday. Then stopped and said " I dont know why I told you that". I said Happy Birthday and we started chatting. During the chat, she asked for my name, then I asked for hers if this means anything. She also told me where she worked and when and said I should visit her sometime. After almost 2 hours, another class was going to start, so knowing we could not chat anymore, I took my leave. She was still doing homework.

After I came home, I could not get her out of my mind and knowing the soonest I could see her again would be in 5 days, I came up with a plan to go back and act like I left something behind. I did not even think she would be there. To my surprise, she was. I went back to sit right next to her as the class had ended.

The teacher was getting ready to leave. We started talking again, but she was taking an online test. I told the teacher I could keep the lab open since this girl was taking a test, as I was a teacher, too. After her test, she thanked me and we walked to our separate cars.

As I was driving by her, I saw her flag me down. Luck has it, her battery was dead. I went, got the security, as I know they have the jumper cables. After we got her car started, she thanked me, gave me a hug and said "Maybe I ll see you on Monday". This was on a Wednesday.

The next day, I made the mistake of going to her workplace. Restaurant. She was not there and I was told she would be back the next day. Here is something I am sure I screwed up: I looked her up on Facebook as I did not know her last name initially and I am 99% sure I found her. I sent a playful message saying "You owe me $13.00 and the food was not that great".

I never heard anything back. Granted, when you are not friends on FB, the message goes to an alternate location and unless you look there you do not see it. This actually happened to me when someone messaged me before. Either way, Monday came, didnt see her. Tuesday, she walked into my class for 1 minute, as we saw each other, we said Hi, then she left. She had class across my class. When I was outside the classroom for break, I saw her get out and walk away without saying anything at all.

Same thing today, she did not even show up to work in the classroom. Obviously now I go back to the restaurant and she has seen the message, I will look like a creep. So where did I screw up? Any chance of fixing this?
