With the warm weather only a few months away I thought I'd create this thread to share ideas on great places to hit up in Summer.

I'd have to say the craziest place I've ever been to is Lagos in Portugal. That place is seriously loose! Loads of backpackers - Aussies, Americans, Canadians etc - booze flows heavily at all the bars because drinks are super cheap and the rest takes care of itself. Lagos really is a black hole - go for two days and you'll stay 2 weeks! Highly recommended as an easy place to get laid on holiday.

Another favourite of mine is Las Vegas. I normally hit up LV in September when the UK summer is dwindling and it's a great place to have some fun with the ladies. Why? Because everyone there is there for the same reason - to party and have a good time! Pool parties are an easy way to meet women and then you can meet up with them later that night etc...

Anyway that's two ideas to get the ball rolling - look fwd to hearing about some cool places to hit up in Summer!

Great call on Vegas man, I agree. Anytime between April-September is pure gold for the pool scene out there. Most dudes head out there thinking club, club, club for picking up chicks but that approach sells Vegas short. The daytime pool scene (at both the regular pools and the pool clubs) is just as productive, if not more productive for meeting the ladies in Vegas, who, as you said, are all there for the same reason.

How about the European scene during summer? I've done Mykonos before and that was solid. Would definitely recommend that. Lots of ladies touring on vacation

I'd also recommend Nice. Great city to set up shop on vacation and it's always buzzing, you can go out any night of the week. Plenty of fellow travelers there looking to let loose and party.

Nice reply – yeah I agree that the south coast of France is pretty sweet – loads of Scandos on holiday out that way… Nice is cool – although it is a bit limited in nightlife options. Having said that – I’ve pulled some quality ladies in Nice.

Greek Islands – top shout! Mykonos is a great place to pull. Maybe because it’s known as the gay island – all the more ladies for the straight guys!

Here’s a tip I heard recently:

On the week of the Running on the Bulls – ie around the first week of July – you want to get yourself to one of the party islands ie. Mykonos / Ios etc. Why? Because every red blooded male backpacker is at Pamplona that week running the bulls. And that leaves the ratio totally in your favour everywhere else! One guy I know banged 8 girls in 8 nights on Ios last year during that week. So keep that tip quiet

It's getting warm over here in the States and I'm getting that spring feeling. Only a matter of time till the ladies are out tanning. (Sadly I don't live in Cali or Florida!)

Good thread and I'm glad someone started it! Seriously though, you make a great point about the week of running of the bulls and how it relates to the guy/girl ratio in vacation hotspots. I learned this lesson long ago in Cancun on Spring Break. One lesson: Whatever bar the hotel/resort is promoting that night for drink specials, free cover, etc, run in the opposite direction! It's bound to be flooded with dudes all full of the same misconception, ie "This place is gonna be MOBBED tonight!" Yeah. Mobbed with dudes. Oftentimes, the "place to be" in vacation hotspots is the exact opposite when looking to pick up! Your best bet is to just pick another club (there are probably dozens) that's central but isn't getting hyped by every resort as the "place to be."

As for Nice, how did you find it midweek? It's been a few years since I was there but I recall partying hard every night and we ended up with couple fine southern ladies from Georgia Fellow travelers are always ripe for the picking. We mainly hit bars instead of clubs/discotheques but had a productive few days. Good times.

In Summer, every night is a party night in Nice although some nights are better than others. I seem to recall a few of the bars running 'ladies night' type events mid week with free champagne for the girls to get the girls in. That was always a good night. Quite easy to take girls down to the beach for an 'after party' if you know what I mean because the beach is super close to the old town bars... Good times!

That Yacht Week article was awesome! Tons of tan Swedish babes laying around on your yacht for a week! Haha while I doubt ALL the ladies on that trip are at that talent level, I do like the bit about the mandated, 50/50 ratio on all bookings. Nothing worse than arriving at a holiday-type destination and finding it's 80 percent dudes. Happened to me once in Cancun on Spring Break which was the worst ratio I've ever seen. Never again!

Given that there have been a few mentions of Nice on this thread, I thought I'd throw Aix en Provence into the mix as a suggestion!

It's around 2 1/2 or 3 hours from Nice. A very cool place to visit. I'm English, but been living in Aix for a few years now. It gets very hot in the summer. However, the vast majority of the locals go away on holiday during July & especially August. The only "drawback" with Aix is that it's essentially a university/college town. All the students (French & foreign) leave around May/June, and a new batch only start arriving in September. This means that July & August is almost exclusively tourists, although there can be some hotties!

In a nutshell : Cool place to party, but if you want to hit on scores of hot students, I'd advise you to come in September & October rather than the summer!

Interesting idea SOS - that's exactly the kind of 'under the radar' place I'm interested in. September sounds like the time to go when all the new students are in town and are looking to PARTY! Could be worth a detour from Nice...

I reckon too many ppl put an emphasis on places like Magaluf and other British destinations. I've found the majority of these places to be crawling with dudes and there's nothing worse than a dude ranch on holiday! The key is to find under the radar spots that are not really known as pick-up destinations, as the girls generally seem to be less defensive than they might be in a place like Magaluf where every dude in town is hitting on them...

Barcelona's quite cool, but as a foreigner or even non-Catalonian, don't expect to have success with locals. Plenty of interested tourists though
When I was there, the beach clubs weren't open yet, but I've been told that there are some great places around Barceloneta. You should try these

I know a few people who agree with me that Vegas is completely over rated, or at least that's the way we felt when we went. My group was fairly young at the time, most of us between 21 and 25. Wherever we went, even the clubs, we were the youngest people there. Lost of ugly, over-weight, middle aged people everywhere you turn during the day, and lots of mid-30's in the night clubs. The entire city looks cheaply manufactured and over produced. No matter where you go, you are over dressed since there are a dozen slobs in shorts and sandals (unless there is a dress code). I like to think that my one impression of Vegas was a false one, and everyone tells me it is, but unless the next trip is free, I won't be going back. The entire city just left me very unimpressed.

The French Riviera is absolutely beautiful. I've only been once, to an event in Nice, and stayed in Menton (about 45 minutes east). My trip was free, but everything is extremely expensive. Very high maintenance crowd, or at least that's what t looks like. You don't do anything without getting dressed up at least a little, or looking good in whatever it is you're wearing. Not saying that that's a bad thing; it's refreshing to be dressed up and doing something normal (like just strolling around the town).

Best place for night life I have been so far is Athens, Greece. I didn't get that stuck-up or assholish vibe you get from Americans. Everyone was surprisingly friendly, but I'm told that's the opposite of what to expect. The clubs and bars in the city are small and some more laid back than the ones on the coast, which are very large and exciting. I'm told this is only the case during the summer.

New Orleans is a nice destination as well, but my view is clouded since I'm from here. I don't enjoy the night clubs in this city, though. Things don't really start popping until midnight or 1am, since they never close. I'm just not on that type of schedule. By midnight I'm starting to nod off.

Yeah Spanish locals are notoriously hard to pull! Most of them wont speak a word of English. It would definitely be tourists I'd be targeting - probably American girls on holiday... The beach clubs sound great!

Many young people actually do speak English. Their level of English might be a bit low, but certainly enough to communicate easily with them. The thing in Catalunya is that they are very proud folks, some of them too proud to speak Spanish, let alone English. So the foreigner bonus might be a hindrance there.
Finding tourists should be easy, I hardly encountered any Spanish people in the clubs there. If you want to do daygame, you might want to stay away from Las Ramblas, which is where loads of pickpockets are during the day and loads of prostitutes during the night. So people might think you want to rob them if you approach them there.
