Picture this . . .
This shy guy sits in the back of the classroom, wishing he had the attention of the girls. He sets himself up in his mind to think that he will only go for the hottest of the hot, which is easier than admitting to himself that he has problems with AA.
He doesn't have his choice of girls, because his AA has kept him from building up a social circle. So he rationalizes that, saying he's waiting for the right one, when deep down inside, he wishes he had some company.
When, in reality, deep down inside, he's craving the attention. He wants the company, and who can blame him? We all need the attention. We need the human social interaction, so that's natural.
But he has yet to realize he's going about it the wrong way . . .
