| So some time ago I was browsing through the online game forum and found a message that I sent to a few girls on Match.com. Don't remember the content but it was something like "hi, I'm bla bla bla, you seem fun to talk to, here's my number XXX-XXX-XXXX."
One Chinese girl actually replied back to me and sent me an SMS on the phone and we set up a date. Originally we planned the date to be in one place, but later on she asked if we can change it to a coffee house that is closer to her and since it was the same walking distance for me I said sure.
I showed up and we talked a bit, told her about my hike with friends for 7 hours that weekend, and some other interesting stories. Since the weather was nice (which is rare for vancouver) I suggested we go for a walk b/c sitting across from each other was offering me no kino options or anything. She resisted a bit at first, but I just stood up and said "let's go, c'mon" and we went out.
Throughout the walk I did very little kino (stupid, I know), and at some point she started talking about the fact she is conflicted whether or not to move to LA or stay here and help her brother (who is younger). I talked to her about that for a bit, but then I tried to get off the topic since it was getting gloomy and not very entertaining. We walked along the shore line and just fluffed I guess about restaurants and places we've traveled.
At some point I asked her for the time and told her I need to be heading back. We headed back and she said "let me show you where I live". So we went back through the street her building was in. I was gonna go and catch my bus back and then I said "hey, can I come up and use your washroom for a sec" event just to get the idea of me being in her place more natural. But she said she has to call her roomate b/c they made a "you can't bring guys home" rule when they moved in, it seemed honest so I just said "oh, then forget it, I don't need to deal with an angry roomate right now". I go to leave and then I point at my cheek as in to kiss me, and she says "no no, just hug" and hugs me. I stay there standing with my finger on my cheek but she keeps refusing. Before I leave she says "so I'll see you later?" and I say "we'll see"
I'm thinking that I just didn't evoke enough attraction, and chinese girls can be somewhat apprehensive about PDAs in general. So I'm thinking of waiting for a week and then calling or texting her to set up a second date with more kino.
